SADDLE BROOK, N.J. -- Saddle Brook's First Reformed Church is inviting community leaders and residents to join in the National Day of Prayer -- both live and online -- on May 5.

Citizens of all faiths are invited to gather near the flagpole at Town Hall on Market Street at 6:30 p.m. for an informal prayer gathering. Township officials and clergy will participate for the second year.

"Our church vision is to serve as a house of prayer, and we want to share that with the community," the Rev. Christopher Wolf said.

People are also invited to offer prayers and share prayer requests that day that congregants will respond to on the church's Facebook page.

"Our nation and our communities need prayer -- need God's help urgently -- with our direction, the economy, families, national security and young people," Wolf said. "We are going to lift these and more up in chorus with people all over America."

For more information, call (201) 843-6672 or visit the church's website.
