Saddle Brook Scouts Cook Up Chili Contest

SADDLE BROOK, N.J. -- Saddle Brook Boy Scout Troop 213 is holding a chili cook-off on Sunday, Jan. 31 at the VFW.

Recipes should be based on four pounds of "meat" (beef, turkey, tofu, etc.). Participants required to bring a crock pot, your own condiments, and anything else that completes the presentation. 

Cash prizes will be given out for the best overall, hottest, most traditional, most creative and most unique ingredient. Prizes will be based on the number of participants. 

The troop will provide cups for tastings, spoons, napkins and power strips.   

Five guest judges will sample each chili between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Perspective participants should send a text or e-mail to Kathleen at 201-410-6814 or shanahank2@gmail.com or Francine at 201-739-5813 or cateyes306@msn.com by Jan. 24.
