SADDLE BROOK, N.J. -- A walk to end suicide is taking shape in Saddle Brook.
It is the American Foundation Suicide Prevention's Out of Darkness walk Sunday, Oct. 23 at Saddle RiverCounty Park - Otto C. Pehle Park.
It brings awareness and raises necessary money so the foundation can invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss, said a release.
Online registration closes at noon Friday, Oct. 21. However, anyone who would like to participate can register in person at the walk from the time check-in begins until the walk starts. Walk donations are accepted until Dec. 31.
The foundation's goal, through the walk and donations, is to reduce the annual suicide 20 percent by 2025.
The in-person registration time Sunday is 9 a.m., followed by the walk from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
