Troy is now 5 and completely dependent on a feeding tube, is non-verbal and unable to walk.

Earlier this month, he underwent a 5.5-hour double hip surgery and a bilateral hell cord lengthening, hamstrings lengthening and open abductors lengthening.

Both of his legs are in a cast with a bar in place that keeps the legs in abducted position.

He will remain this way for up to seven weeks and will require around-the-clock care.

More than $4,000 had been raised on a GoFundMe for Troy launched by his aunt as of Thursday morning.

"Many of you have asked how they can help Troy & his mom & dad, so I have decided to start this Go Fund Me page for anyone who wishes to donate towards the additional care for Troy," Claudia Barboza Monello wrote.

"Any little bit helps and is beyond appreciated."
