River Vale Makes Security Company’s List Of 100 Safest Communities In U.S.

RIVER VALE, N.J. – A home security company released its list of 100 Safest Cities in America for 2017 on Monday, and several Bergen and Passaic County communities made the cut – including River Vale, which came in highest at number 8.

SafeWise – a company committed to increasing safety education, awareness and preparedness in American communities – compared crime rates to population to devise the safety rankings.

“To determine the Safest Cities in America, we considered all communities with at least 10,000 people, and we added local public safety and community health programs to the mix,” according to the company.

The Bergen and Passaic County communities on the list are:

#58 Mahwah
#59 New Milford
#68 Wyckoff
#78 Bergenfield
#79 Ringwood
#93 Dumont
#100 Franklin Lakes
