The name of the main thoroughfare that cuts through the town was officially changed from Boulevard.

Mola passed away in October at the age of 80. At the time of his death, he had served for 45 years as Mayor of Elmwood Park. One of the nation’s longest serving mayors, Mola had won 12 straight four-year terms.

“For my whole life I’ve had my dad as mayor and watched him serve the community,” Mola’s daughter Melissa Collesano told northjersey.com. “So this is a wonderful, wonderful momentous event for the whole family and the community.”
