Saddle Brook Resident Vies For Cancer Society’s Man Of Year Title

SADDLE BROOK, N.J. – A Saddle Brook man is in the running to be named Man of the Year by the New Jersey chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Over the next 10 weeks, Matt Basilo, a senior marketing coordinator for WithumSmith+Brown in Morristown, and his team will be competing against other nominees and their teams to raise the most money to combat blood cancer.

“I knew I wanted to do whatever I could to help and accepting this nomination was the first step,” Basilo, a Tenafly native, wrote on his online fundraising page.

“It is my goal to raise over $50,000 for those battling blood cancers around the world,” he added.

Over the next 10 weeks, Basilo said he and his team would be hosting events, sharing projects and raising awareness.

“I know that raising $50,000 in 10 weeks will not be easy, but I truly believe we can do it!” he wrote.

Nominees in each chapter compete for the local title of Man & Woman of the Year, with the highest fundraisers in the country earning the national title.
