Clothing Drop Crackdown Underway In East Rutherford

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Borough Council is looking to limit the number of clothing bins and make sure organizations receive permits before placing them in East Rutherford through an ordinance introduced earlier this month, NorthJersey.com reports.

The ordinance is part of a recent crackdown by council members who noticed an increase in the number of bins around the borough last summer, which was followed by an investigation by the police department, the article says.

There are currently no regulations in East Rutherford but the building department says the bins require permits, according to NorthJersey.com.
