ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. -- Elmwood Park Mayor Richard Mola is hoping a federal law will help get sound barriers installed along Interstate 80, according to NorthJersey.com.
Mola attended a meeting Sept. 23 with state officials regarding 9 miles of planned reconstruction on I-80, including the widening of the highway westbound in Paterson from three to four lanes to reduce traffic slow-downs during peak hours, northjersey.com said.
Mola was told there is a good chance of getting the barriers now because a federal law specifies sound barriers can be included in this type of project, northjersey.com said.
