The plea deal would have Michael Cassano, 40, formerly a successful financial planner earning six figures, in prison for more than eight years, the article says.

Maywood police arrested Cassano at the Hudson City Savings bank in Lodi, just as police in Toms River were headed to Queens to arrest a suspect in February 2015, Daily Voice initially reported.

The detectives from Ocean County had a warrant for Cassano following the robbery of a PNC Bank branch in Toms River earlier that month, using what apparently was the same weapon — an airsoft gun.

In both robberies, Cassano placed the gun on the counter and fled with cash, investigators said.
