Sheriff's Office Spokesperson William Schivella said it would be common practice to administer drug and alcohol tests in fatal accidents, but neither were administered at the time of the crash, the article says.

State police told NorthJersey.com that neither are required.

If the PCPO's office finds that alcohol or drugs were a factor, then they can request a warrant for blood samples issued by a judge, according to NorthJersey.com.
