Jersey Central Power & Light restored power to approximately 180,000 customers since last Friday's Nor'easter

Twitter user Bob Obringer says these numbers are wrong as many JCP&L customers in Passaic County remain without power.

But as yet another winter storm approaches, nearly 40,000 remain in the dark across northern Morris, Passaic, Warren and Sussex counties.

Some are taking to social media to express their frustrations.

@msmike of Wayne:

@GovMurphy @News12NJ Not only do we still not have any power from @JCP_L since Friday, we still don't even have timetable for restoration. It's in the 40s in our house currently and it's supposed to snow again. Completely unacceptable

@AnnMarieFuccell of High Bridge:

In what world is this BS #jcpl acceptable? Where? @GovMurphy are u warm? Can u shower? I have no hot water! My son is freezing and hungry. Small towns come last! Why is this ok?

Twitter user Bob Obringer of Passaic County accused JCP&L of fabricating numbers (see photo above):

Great news @JCP_L! Since we already know you're fabricating numbers, we've let the Mayor's office and NJ BPU know for you! Saves you some work, right? #FakeNews

Some made light of the situation, as best they could, anyways:

  • @ricbolger: Good morning! Beautiful day with the thrumming generators echoing through the suburban wasteland. If I volunteer to be a tribute for the @JCP_L Energy Games, can my district get some electricity?
  • @unfltrdbastard: May the odds be ever in your favor
