ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. -- Anthony J. Iacovino, 80, of Elmwood Park, died Sunday, Sept. 4.
Iacovino was born and raised in the Bronx; he lived in Glen Rock before settling in Elmwood Park for the past 32 years.
He worked for Gazzani Motors and prior to that Niclaus Gas Station, both of Elmwood Park for 23 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army from 1954-56.
He is survived by his children, Paul, Geri Ann, Kim and Jodi; brother, Mario; grandchildren, Anthony, Thomas, Michael, Nicole, Kristina, Louis, Philip, Amanda Rose and James; great-grandchildren, Dylan and Charlotte; and his longtime companion Elaine.
His wife, Carole, predeceased him 1991.
Funeral services will take place at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Patrick J. Conte Funeral Home Inc., 274 Market St., Elmwood Park. There will be a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Leo’s R.C. Church, 324 Market St., Elmwood Park. Cremation will be private. Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
