SADDLE BROOK, N.J. – Anthony “Tony” Ralph Davanzo, Jr. of Saddle Brook died Friday. He was 55.

Davanzo was born in Englewood and resided in Wood-Ridge before moving to Saddle Brook, where he lived for more than 25 years. He helped run Calderone Hilltop Service for 25 years.

He is survived by his wife Karen, son Anthony, daughter Bianca, mother Barbara, brother Glen and his family, as well as parents-in-law Eileen and Salvatore Calderone and sister-in-law Debra Wisse and her family. He was predeceased by his father, Anthony.

Davanzo had been “highly active in the community through sports programs” and was “an ardent supporter of Bergen Catholic Football, the school were his son Anthony formerly played,” according to a GoFundMe page set up to raise funds for his hospice care and funeral expenses.

“He has fought valiantly against the cancer within both his lungs and brain,” the page states.
