ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. -- Domenico Carriero, an Elmwood Park resident and formerly a longtime resident of Paterson, died Wednesday, Jan. 6. He was 83.
Born in Italy, Carriero came to the United States in 1965. He lived in Paterson for 50 years before moving to Elmwood Park five months ago.
Carriero worked for the Paterson Public Library for 12 years before retiring.
His is survived by his wife, Lucia (Salluce); children Domenico and his wife Lisa, Rocco and his wife Gina, and Carlo; five grandchildren; and sister Maria Santantonio.
Visiting hours will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, at the Patrick J. Conte Funeral Home, 274 Market St., Elmwood Park. The funeral will be at 8:30 a.m. Monday, with a funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m., at St. Anne’s, in Fair Lawn. Entombment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Paterson.
