The Toms River resident was born in Hackensack and lived in Elmwood Park and Fair Lawn.
He served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States National Guard 50th Armored Division.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Bonnie L. (nee D'Angelo); children Jaclyn Rizzi of Elmwood Park, Janine Mancuso and her husband Anthony of New York, and Adam Gugino of Metuchen; siblings James Rizzi and his wife Dawn of Lodi and John Rizzi and his wife Carol of Millington; a host of nieces and nephews; along with his rescued companion, Nikki.
Interment was held at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
