Fair Lawn Funeral For U.S. Marine, 25, Struck By Car

FAIR LAWN, N.J. — A Fair Lawn funeral service has been set for Dylan Moran, who was struck and killed by a car at a gas station in California on Nov. 10, at 25 years old, while on a business trip.

Moran was a U.S. Marine, and father to 1-year-old Harper Elizabeth Moran.

Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m., and 6 to 8 p.m., on Sunday, Nov. 19, at the Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service in Wallington. 

A funeral service is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 20, at 11 a.m. at the Van Riper-Ellis Broadway Baptist Church on River Road in Fair Lawn. 

Moran was born in Hawaii and raised in Vernon, New Jersey, graduating from Vernon High School in 2009.

He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp immediately after graduation, and served as a helicopter mechanic in New Orleans.

Following his service, Moran worked in IT consulting, most recently for Optimum in Oklahoma.

He was a fitness enthusiast and enjoyed Spartan races, and rescuing Pit Bulls. His greatest joy was spending time with his daughter.

More than $18,000 has been raised on a GoFundMe for Harper's education fund.

Moran is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Maciag DeGeeter originally of Wallington; father, Sean Moran; brothers, Brandon L. Moran and David DeGeeter; grandparents, Edward and Philomena Moran; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
