John Pastorick, Jr., 77, Of Saddle Brook

SADDLE BROOK, N.J. -- John Pastorick, Jr., of Saddle Brook, died on Dec. 4. He was 77. 

He was born in Scranton, Pa. on Nov. 16, 1939 to John Sr., and Anna (Chichura) Pastorick. He was a graduate of Garfield High School Class of 1957. Following in his father's footsteps, he became a butcher, first working for A&P, and later the Inserra Shoprite Supermarkets. He became a Shoprite Store Manager and was a dedicated employee for over 40 years, until his retirement in 2008. He and Ann enjoyed vacationing and traveling to many destinations they only dreamed of seeing. In his spare time he enjoyed working on his cars and was always excited to spend time with his grandchildren. 

He is survived by his wife, Ann; children, John and Joanne, James and Kirstin; grandchildren, Kyra, John, Tyler and Jessica; sisters, Janet Szewczyk, Patricia Konczak and Kathleen Brandes, their husbands and children.

A funeral liturgy will be held at the Cathedral of St. Michael the Archangel, 96 First St, Passaic, followed by interment in St. Michael's Cemetery, S. Hackensack. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations in John's memory to Memorial Sloan Kettering, Alzheimer's Research, or Boys Town.
