ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. —Nikola Mirkovic, of Elmwood Park, died Wednesday, Aug 3. He was 82.
He was born Dec 24, 1933, in Susak, Croatia. He came to the United States in 1963.
He’d been a resident of Elmwood Park the past 34 years. He was a long shoreman with the International Long Shoremans Union in Newark for 37 years before retiring.
He is survived by his wife, Maria (nee Sckrivanic); and children, Antonia Tarabocchia, Dina Picinich and Mary Mirkovic.
There will be a funeral at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the Patrick J. Conte Funeral Home Inc., 274 Market St., Elmwood Park followed by a 9:30 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Leo’s R.C. Church, 324 Market St., Elmwood Park. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Saddle Brook. Visiting hours will be from 5-9 p.m. Thursday.
