Peter Christopher Morgan, 71, Longtime Saddle Brook Resident

SADDLE BROOK, N.J. -- Peter Christopher Morgan, of Saddle Brook, died Monday, Feb. 8. He was 71.

Born in Hackensack and raised in River Edge and Oradell, Morgan lived in Saddle Brook for 43 years. He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He began his career with Western Electric, continuing with AT&T and ultimately retiring from Lucent Technologies as an internal auditor in 2001.

Morgan was a faithful and active parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle Church in Saddle Brook. He served as president of the Holy Name Society, serving as chairman of the carnival committee, bingo team leader and as a Eucharistic minister. He was an avid New York Yankees fan, enjoyed playing softball, listening to Elvis and trips to Atlantic City.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary (Ramge) Morgan; children Karen Mallo and her husband Tim, Christopher Morgan and his wife Heather, Theresa Giamo and her husband Mark, Brian Morgan and his wife Heather, and Mary Perro and her husband Anthony; grandchildren Tim, Grace, Katelyn, Andrew, Stephanie, Sarah, Joseph, Mason, Samantha, Lily and Miles; siblings Agnes Dietrich, Patricia Warrell, Joseph Morgan and Melissa Quarles; and many nieces and nephews.

Morgan was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Elizabeth, and his sister, Maura.

Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11 at Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home, 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn. A funeral Mass will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 12 at St. Philip the Apostle Church, 488 Saddle River Road, Saddle Brook. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
