Richard Louis Curti Sr., 78, Elmwood Park Resident

ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. -- Richard Louis Curti Sr., of Elmwood Park, died on Saturday, Feb. 11. He was 78.

Born in Passaic, Curti lived in Garfield and Saddle Brook, before settling in Elmwood Park 18 years ago. He was a machinist for Curtiss-Wright in Fairfield and Bendix Corporation in Teterboro before retiring. 

He was an avid Al Jolson fan and impersonator who had appeared on the Steve Ames show and performed in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut nursing homes, entertaining the residents. 

Curti is survived by his children, Christine Szot and her husband Mark, and Richard Louis Curti Jr. and his wife Annie; sister Linda Grayzel and her husband Ken; and grandchildren Charles and Adam Szot. 

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17, at Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave., in Garfield, with an 8:30 p.m. chapel service. Private cremation will follow.
