SADDLE BROOK, N.J. -- Salvatore Cicardo, of Saddle Brook passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 28, 2016. He was 94.
Prior to retiring, he worked for AT&T in Paramus as an electrical engineer. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Hackensack Troast Athletic Club, was inducted in the Bergen County Baseball Hall of Fame and was a parishioner of St. Philips the Apostle R. C. Church in Saddle Brook.
He was the husband of Gaetana (nee Inglese) for 69 years; father of Debbie Cicardo of Saddle Brook and Steven Cicardo and his wife Jennifer of Lake Hopatcong; grandfather of Amber Cicardo; and brother of the late Frank Cicardo, Jack Cicardo, Michelina DeVincentis and Rose Giordano.
The funeral will begin at 9:15 a.m. Friday at G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Service, 397 Union St., Hackensack. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Philip the Apostle Church, 488 Saddle River Road, Saddle Brook. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery in Paramus. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
