A 2000 Saturn driven by another 17-year-old apparently made a left from River Drive onto Locust Street directly in the path of a Jeep around 8:45 p.m., Police Chief Michael Foligno told Daily Voice.

"The Jeep struck the Saturn broad side on the front passenger door, causing serious bodily injury to the front-seat passenger," Foligno said.

"A fire rescue truck was needed to extricate the injured passenger, who was transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson with internal bleeding."
