Known as America’s first and largest decorated nighttime parade of fire trucks, the national event is expected to draw more than 250 illuminated emergency vehicles and floats from around the country.
So far, more than 20 organizations from Warwick, N.Y. to Wanaque to Weehawken have already registered for the parade.
To participate, vehicles and floats must be decorated with holiday lights and decorations. No sirens or Santa Claus’s allowed — St. Nick will arrive on the Wallington Fire Department Truck at the end of the parade. Holiday music is encouraged.
Vehicles and floats will be judged based on creativity, originality and the use of lights, music and theme of entry.
The parade kicks off on Mt. Pleasant Avenue at 6 p.m.and ends with refreshments at Centennial Field on Spring Street.
Donations to offset the cost may be sent to Wallington Fire Department’s Holiday Parade, Wallington Civic Center, 24 Union Blvd., Wallington, NJ 07057
