ONLY ON CVP: An Elmwood Park family got a Thanksgiving dinner scare, but all ended well when a 9-year-old boy missing for nearly an hour turned out to be visiting a friend nearby.
“Everyone’s hearts were in their chests,” Elmwood Park Police Chief Michael Foligno told CLIFFVIEW PILOT . “Thankfully he was OK.”
Foligno, who lives near the North Street home, headed there with his son — who was celebrating his 17th birthday today — when he heard the alert just after 3:15 p.m.
He also called for a K9 unit from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office. Garfield police responded, as well.
“All of a sudden, the boy came running out of his friend’s house,” the chief said. “It was a happy ending for everyone.”
