ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. -- Three men forced their way into an Elmwood Park apartment Sunday morning, ordered three women to the floor and ransacked the place, said police who quickly caught two suspects from Paterson.
Detectives were closing in on the third, law enforcement sources said.
Officer Michael Ingrasselino stopped the pair while responding to the Donor Avenue home at 8:10 a.m. as they tried to flee in a vehicle, Police Chief Michael Foligno told Daily Voice.
Officers this afternoon found a 30-inch, muzzle loader-style rifle in the bushes in the 100 block of Boulevard, he added.
They charged Jamie Hines, 32, and Javon Gee, 20, with armed robbery, conspiracy and weapons offenses.
Police recovered several flat screen TV's, iPads, iPhones, purses, and handbags taken during the roughly 40-minute home invasion robbery, he said.
None of the victims was injured, the chief said.
The third man was described as black, with a slim build, about 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-9. He "should be considered armed and dangerous," Foligno said.
Anyone with information that could help find him is asked to call Elmwood Park police: (201) 796-0700 .
Callers may remain anonymous and all calls are kept confidential, the chief said.
