ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. -- Elmwood Park police using Narcan revived three drug overdose victims in less than three hours -- one of whom collapsed on the floor of a 7-Eleven -- boosting the year's total to 20.
The first, a 25-year-old Wyckoff woman, was unconscious with shallow breathing when officers found her in the living room of a Chestnut Street house around 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Police Chief Michael Foligno told Daily Voice.
She was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center after the officers revived her, he said.
The second call came in five minutes later from a woman who said her boyfriend had overdosed on heroin in the bathroom of a Beech Street home, the chief said.
Officers found the 32-year-old Elmwood Park man semi-conscious and incoherent, Foligno said. He was taken to Bergen Regional Medical Center.
The third overdose, of a 32-year-old Woodland Park man, occurred around 8:20 p.m. Police found him unconscious with shallow breathing on the floor of the 7-Eleven at Market Street and Boulevard, Foligno said.
He was brought to Bergen Regional Medical Center after officers administered Narcan.
