YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A tractor-trailer carrying a load of cheese burst into flames after hitting the back of a car on Route 80 in Saddle Brook during the evening rush hour, bringing both firefighters and state environmental investigators.
New Jersey State Police were quickly on the scene of the 5:35 p.m. crash and summoned firefighters from Saddle Brook.
The state Department of Environmental Protection also was notified “because of the runoff of cheesy water into a storm drain,” a law enforcement source with direct knowledge of the incident told CLIFFVIEW PILOT .
The crash occurred at Exit 62 in Saddle Brook and backed up eastbound traffic for more than two miles. No serious injuries were reported.
