Paterson Police, FBI Team Up To Nab Accused Gunman

PATERSON, N.J. -- Working with the FBI, Paterson police raided a Newark residence early Friday and arrested a man who they said shot another in the chest last month.

The 19-year-old victim survived the Feb. 27 shooting at 16th and Madison avenues, said Police Director Jerry Speziale, in announcing Friday's arrest of Christian Rodriguez.

Detectives Michael Quinones and Passaic County Prosecutor’s Detective Ricardo Ferreira of the Ceasefire Unit identified Rodriguez as the shooter, Speziale said.

Working with members of the F.B.I.'s Newark-based Violent Crime Fugitive Task Force, they found and arrested him on Parker Street in Newark, lhe said.

Rodriguez was charged with attempted murder and weapons offenses and ordered held in the Passaic County Jail pending a first court appearance.
