FAIR LAWN, N.J. -- A truck carrying furniture rolled into a utility pole in Fair Lawn Monday morning, snapping it in half.

The driver and another occupant were taken to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood with injuries that responders said weren't serious.

The driver and another occupant were taken to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood with injuries that responders said weren't life-threatening after the box truck hit a curb, rolled struck the pole at Saddle River Road and Berdan Avenue.

The truck's tank was filled with diesel fuel that was cleaned up by Fair Lawn firefighters.

Borough police, EMS and the Heavy Rescue Squad were among the responders.

The roadway was to remain closed for most of the day for the cleanup, removal and repairs, authorities said.
