SADDLE BROOK, N.J. -- A pair of Saddle Brook police officers saved a 43-year-old overdose victim with Narcan Thursday night.
Officers John Tritto and Darrin Williams were summoned to a Floral Lane home "by a family member who found him unresponsive and barely breathing," Police Chief Robert Kugler told Daily Voice.
After they administered the Narcan spray, he "was brought back to consciousness and resumed normal breathing," the chief said
Saddle Brook Volunteer Ambulance members took him to Hackensack University Medical Center.
"Fortunately our officers carry and administer this life-saving drug antidote to victims when needed," Kugler said.
"Unfortunately, the frequency of use of this product is ever-increasing and all too common," the chief added.
