In Your Face! Saddle Brook Teacher, Principal Get 'Pied'

SADDLE BROOK, N.J. — Third-grade teacher Fara DiSalvo and Principal Toni Violetti of Saddle Brook's Franklin School each took a pie to the face on Wednesday for a good cause.

Saddle Brook students watched as the Franklin School's principal, Toni Violetti, and third grade teacher, Fara DiSalvo, got pied in the face.

Student council advisors Catherine Boyes and Jamie Kugler helped arrange the event as motivation for students to collect cans in the annual "Soup-er Bowl" drive.

The school split into two teams, with one teacher representing each.

The teacher on the team that collected fewer cans would be smacked with a pie -- which was DiSalvo.

Violetti stepped up as further motivation for the students to beat last year's number.

They did.

The winning team won by 12 cans, and the school collected more than 1,200.
