Brooks reached the milestone with a free throw against Hasbrouck Heights Tuesday.

Brooks scored her 1,000th point soon after teammate Cherie Smedile did the same.

The junior kept her attention on team success while approaching the mark.

"I'm not really focusing on it because it will get in my head too much," Brooks said. "I just look to score as much as I can."

Brooks started for Saddle Brook each of her three years with the team.

Head coach Darren White said Brooks and Smedile play unselfishly.

"They're more concerned with getting the win or rebounds and assists," White said, "which says a lot about themselves."

The Falcons won 16 games in their first 20 prior to a Wednesday night matchup against St. Mary.
