Parents can sign up their children – kindergarteners through eighth-graders – between 7-8:15 p.m. either Sept. 15 or 19. The Saddle Brook Recreation House is at Veterans Field, 20 Sampson St.

The program is open to township residents only.

Previous wrestling experience is not required. Each wrestler's matches will be based on age, experience, weight and skill level.

Wrestlers must be 5 by Dec. 31, 2017. Birth certificates are required at signups for all new wrestlers.

A refundable, $50 cash deposit is required for headgear and singlets.

The season is from November through February.

Practices are scheduled for Mondays through Wednesdays during the season, except for kindergartners and first-graders, who will practice Mondays and Wednesdays only.

Matches are slated for Saturday and/or Sunday mornings.

The coaches are Saddle Brook High School graduates and former wrestlers. Oliver Ruiz is a former state champion.

Franklin School gym teacher Wayne Rogers is at the helm of the high school program.
