SADDLE BROOK, N.J.– Saddle Brook honored its oldest church this past weekend as part of the township's ongoing 300th anniversary celebration.
A special dedication service was held at the First Reformed Church, featuring presentations, musical selection from the choir and a message from Pastor Christopher Wolf.
The Ackerman Avenue church was established with 11 charter members in 1900 – when the original chapel was built – and held its first service in May of the following year.
It has undergone several changes since a fire in 1952. The original chapel was destroyed in 1976.
