Edward J. Sudo, 90, Of Saddle Brook

SADDLE BROOK, N.J. --  Edward J. Sudo, of Saddle Brook, died Friday, Aug. 12. He was 90. 

Prior to retiring, he worked as an assistant engineer for International Flavors Fragrances in Hazlet. 

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Hackensack High School Baseball Hall of Fame, a member of the Bergen County Baseball Hall of Fame, a member of the Knights of Columbus Trinity Council #747 and a parishioner of St. Joseph's R. C. Church in Hackensack.

He is survived by his children, Edward Sudo and Robert Sudo; grandchildren, James and Jillian; brother-in-law, Joseph Makowski and his wife Edith; nephew Richard Makowski and his wife Jodi of Bloomington, Ill.; niece Jo Anne Celentano and her husband George of Verona; and great-niece, Maria. 

There will be a funeral at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Service, 397 Union St., Hackensack. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's R. C. Church, 460 Hudson St., Hackensack with burial following at St. Joseph Cemetery in Hackensack. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m Monday at the funeral home.
