SADDLE BROOK, N.J. -- Helena Smith, formerly of Saddle Brook, died Friday, Nov. 4. She was 91.
Born in Manhattan, she lived in Saddle Brook for 55 years before settling in Whiting the past 10 years. She was a sales associate for Macy’s Department Store in Paramus for 17 years, retiring in 1998.
She is predeceased by her husband, Anthony.
She is survived by her children, Martin A. and his wife Robin, Dr. Frederick B. and his wife Sandy, Veronica Tkacenko and her husband Leon and Ellen Snowhill; grandchildren, Alex, Aaron, Daniel, Leon, Andrew, Allison, Isibeal, and Michael; and sister, Theresa.
The funeral will be at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Patrick J. Conte Funeral Home Inc., 274 Market St., Elmwood Park. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. at St. Philip The Apostle R.C. Church, 488 Saddle River Road, Saddle Brook. Interment will be at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. Visiting will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
