Judge Gives Former Teaneck Man Probation In Fondling Of Girl, 13

TEANECK, N.J. -- A former Teaneck man who police said hugged and grabbed the breasts of a 13-year old girl in the parking lot of a local 7-Eleven because he had had disputes with her mother got probation after pleading guilty to a lesser charge.

Keith Wright, 43, will be monitored, "perhaps by phone" from Texas, where he is living with his fiance, Superior Court Judge Margaret M. Foti said.

He also will undergo sex offender-specific counseling -- to be selected and monitored by the Bergen County Probation Department -- under a plea deal with prosecutors.

In response to questions from defense attorney John Weichsel, Wright said he fondled the girl last Feb. 6 “for the purposes of sexual gratification.”

Weichsel later told Daily Voice that a contentious history with the girl’s mother prompted the behavior. Both lived in the same building near the convenience store, he said.

Wright also agreed to a permanent restraining order barring him from contact with the girl.
