People packed themselves into NY Penn Station Tuesday, Aug. 23 due to a disabled train in Secaucus. The disabled train, caused by overhead wire issues, led to a nearly 90-minute delay around 7:55 p.m., NJ Transit said on Twitter. One train into Trenton was 2 hours and 20 minutes behind schedule. 65 Cars Involved In Icy Crashes On Major NJ Roadway
At least 65 vehicles were involved in a series of crashes on a major ice-covered road in Central Jersey, authorities said. The crashes were blamed on black ice which often forms at dawn and dusk, according to the Monmouth County sheriff. The first chain-reaction crash occurred at 6:27 a.m. Wednesday on Route 36 westbound at the Route 18 ramp, according to Eatontown police. Jersey Shore Pedestrian Struck, Killed Walking On Garden State Parkway, State Police Say
A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Toyota Friday afternoon while walking on the Garden State Parkway in Ocean County, authorities said. The fatal crash occurred at 2:12 p.m. in a northbound lane of the parkway in Toms River, according to a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police. The parkway experienced heavy traffic delays in both directions as state troopers investigated the crash scene, reports said. Another Route 80 Delay: Overturned Tractor Trailer Shuts Eastbound Highway In Roxbury
Route 80 was backed up Friday morning after a tractor trailer overturned spilling fuel across the highway. All lanes were closed near Exit 34 - NJ 15 as of 10:30 a.m., according to 511nj.org. The incident occurred around 4:45 a.m. Photos show the trailer hanging off the guardrail. Delays of 90 minutes were reported. Motorists urged to plan alternate routes during rush hours.

Amtrak Worker Train Derails Near NYC's Penn Station, Commuter Tickets Cross-Honored By PATH
Direct Saturday morning commuter rail service into Manhattan's Penn Station was being diverted to Hoboken after an Amtrak worker train derailed, NJ Transit said. Customers could then switch to PATH, which was cross-honoring their tickets at Newark, Hoboken and 33rd Street in order to get to the area. No injuries were reported after a mechanical problem caused the derailment just outside Penn Station, the agency said. The train derailed just before 7 a.m., NJ Transit tweeted. Results included LIRR delays in and out of Penn.
