Woman Critical After Being Hit By Vehicle In Yonkers A woman is currently in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in Westchester.  The incident happened on Sunday, May 12 just before noon, when a 75-year-old pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the area of 772 Palisade Ave. in Yonkers, which is near the Foodtown Express grocery store, according to Yonkers Police Detective Sergeant Frank DiDomizio. Car Goes Up In Flames On Busy Westchester Roadway Smoke was seen on a busy main route in Northern Westchester when a vehicle went up in flames.  The incident happened on Saturday, May 11 around 1:40 p.m., when a car caught on fire on Route 9 southbound in Croton-on-Hudson just south of the pedestrian bridge.  According to the village's fire department, the blaze began in the vehicle's engine compartment and was quickly put out.
