Report: Deadliest Highway In New Jersey Runs Through Bergen County The deadliest highway in New Jersey runs right through several municipalities in Bergen and Passaic counties. According to data from the New Jersey Department of Transportation and State Police, the Garden State Parkway is the deadliest in the state, with 32 fatalities occurring on the highway last year, NJ.com reports. Highway fatalities were up in 2016 from 2015, and experts say that's because there is more traffic, the article says. The one-way streets are undergoing a two-way conversion, starting with State Street on July 5, with work on Main Street to begin thereafter.  All work is expected to be complete by August 2018. The State Street conversion will occur north to south beginning at Passaic Street and ending at Essex Street. Delays and detours are expected.

Disabled Train Under Hudson Strands 1,200 Nyc-bound NJ Commuters No injuries were reported but commuters had significant delays Friday night after a Penn Station-bound train broke down in a Hudson River tunnel between Manhattan and New Jersey. Approximately 1,200 commuters were affected, New York City's Office of Emergency Management reported. Reported delays of up to 45 minutes continued until 5 o'clock. A team had to assess the damage before the train eventually made its way to Penn Station, according to NYC Fire Wire.
